Detroit Mechanix Referee

Summary:

A Detroit Mechanix Referee is responsible for knowing and enforcing all rules of the AUDL
(American Ultimate Disc League). All referees must partake in training and pass a rules test in order to be eligible for the position.

Responsibilities:

• Pre-game setup including but not limited to:
     - Scoreboard set up
     - Field setup
     - Equipment check of all players
     - Ensuring game starts on time
• Handling pre game coin toss between team captains
• Making game time calls quickly and correctly
• Knowing all rules administered by the AUDL
• Post game clean up including but not limited to:
     -Scoreboard breakdown
     -Field clean up

Job Requirements:

• Have 6 months to a year minimum refereeing experience
• Be in good physical condition to keep up with plays in order to make proper calls
• Be able to make a quick decision and stick with it.
• Experience in the sport of Ultimate helpful but not necessary
• Be at field an hour before game time.

Compensation:

• $50 per Game x 8 home games. Games last around two and a half hours
• Training is unpaid. Includes a rules test, and a live scrimmage test.
